Stepping Stone was founded on a dream of creating a loving, safe, therapeutic environment for students with special needs—the students who don’t quite “fit” in a public school setting. I became a part of the Stepping Stone “family” in 1980, and have embraced that dream for my classroom.

My high school program is designed to help all students meet the varied credit requirements of their sending districts, cover the required state and federal course guidelines for high school graduation, incorporate the Core Curriculum Content Standards, meet all individual student IEP goals and objectives, and provide the emotional support each student needs to successfully transition to higher education or work.

To accomplish my goals as a teacher, I rely on the teachings of William Glasser’s CHOICE THEORY, Jim Fay’s LOVE AND LOGIC, and the lessons I learned from my favorite teachers.
